First Baptist Church Arnprior

FBC has been a part of Arnprior for over 150 years. We care about our community and being faithful to God's word.

Welcome

At First Baptist, we want to be a church family that, above all else, puts God first, elevating Him in the eyes of others through our intimate love for Him. We want to be known for: our ability to love and know God; our complete devotion to God; our faithful submission to His will; and our unwavering trust in Him.

We want to be known for our love for one another in the family of God. We want to live in true community, building authentic relationships, genuinely living out the “one another” commands.

We want to be known for: our compassionate love of others; our ability to look at others through the eyes of God; and our willingness to accept others as Christ did. We want to be others-oriented, intentionally putting the needs of others ahead of our own.

Our Vision

We want to be a church family committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ – intentionally, relationally and authentically leading broken hearts to the heart of God by…

P – Presenting to all the Truth of Christ

We want to be a church family that has a heart for evangelism, inviting people to consider the person and truth of Christ, both in our community and around the world.

1 Peter 3:15

L – Learning to live in and through Christ

We want to be a church family that deliberately helps believers (new, growing and mature) nurture faith in Christ, abundantly experiencing His fullness and power. Philippians 1:21

A – Accepting and encouraging others in Christ

We want to be a church family known for its Christ-like acceptance of others, both inside and outside the community of faith – challenging one another to live out our faith in such a manner that we lovingly view everyone as Jesus does.
Ephesians 4:1-3

N – Nourishing and Training to Serve like Christ

We want to be a church family known for our heart-felt willingness to equip and mentor believers to serve God with their time, natural abilities, spiritual giftedness, finances and resources. Ephesians 4:11-12

FBC Distinctives

(Some of our commitments that define us.)

BIBLICAL TRUTH – we are a church family deeply committed to the pursuit of Christ-centered sound doctrine and expositional preaching that takes the main point of a passage and makes that the main point of the sermon and applies that truth to life today.

BIBLICAL WORSHIP - At First Baptist Church we believe that Christ-centered worship is our priority, and as such we will strive to maintain a joyful yet reverent atmosphere. We believe that the word of God is central to all that we do and is a sufficient guide for our corporate worship. Jn. 4:23-24

BIBLICAL COMMUNITY – we are committed to the “one another” commands found throughout scripture and seek to fulfill them in and through corporate worship gatherings and life group communities where we meet throughout the week to encourage and care for one another. Acts 2:42-47

BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP – we believe the bible calls for elders and deacons to lead the church and that elders/pastors of each local church have been granted authority under the headship of Jesus Christ to provide oversight and to teach/preach the word of God in corporate assembly for the building up of the body and that the office of elder/pastor is restricted to men. 1 Tim 3

BIBLICAL COUNSELING – We believe that the body of Christ is God’s primary context for change. Biblical counseling involves walking patiently with someone, while wisely connecting them to Christ through the grace-centered message of the bible. This one-on-one ministry is done in the community of the church where both the normal and complex problems of daily life can be addressed. Ephesians 4:11-16

Rather,

speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,

Ephesians 4:15 ESV

Our Vision for Corporate Worship

At FBC our aim is to glorify God together through worship. And although we do this individually, God’s word commands believers to meet for a time of corporate worship (Heb. 10:24-25). Our aim in this document is to provide understanding and a rationale for this by explaining what worship is – and isn’t; who we worship; who worships; why we worship; how we worship; and when and where we worship.
